What does the Bible say?

Honest questions about everyday life — forgiveness, family, purity, work and more — answered from Scripture with grace and truth.

#ForgivenessWhat does the Bible say about forgiveness?

We forgive because we have been forgiven. Forgiveness releases the debt — it does not deny the hurt.

Scripture calls us to forgive others "just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32). Forgiveness is not pretending nothing happened; it is choosing to release the debt into God's hands. Jesus links our forgiving others with our walk with the Father (Matthew 6:14-15), and when Peter asked "how many times?", Jesus answered seventy times seven — a heart posture, not a counter. Forgiveness can be immediate while trust is rebuilt over time. If you are carrying a deep wound, our pastoral team would love to walk with you.

#ForgivenessHow do I forgive someone who hurt me and never apologised?

Forgiveness does not wait for an apology. It frees your heart from bitterness and leaves justice with God.

Romans 12 reminds us not to repay evil for evil and to leave room for God's justice. You can forgive in prayer, even when the other person never acknowledges what they did. Jesus invites us to bless and pray for those who mistreat us (Luke 6:27-28). Hebrews 12:15 warns that a root of bitterness defiles many — forgiveness protects your own heart. Healthy boundaries are still wise. Forgiving someone does not require you to remain in harm's way.
